German Foreign Minister arrived in Kyiv
On Monday, February 7, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kyiv on her second visit in early 2022.
This was announced on Twitter by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.
"The visit of my German colleague Annalena Baerbok to Ukraine to visit the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide has begun," Kuleba wrote.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister added that work was underway to ensure that the genocide of Ukrainians received the widest possible international recognition, particularly in Germany.
The Foreign Ministry's press service notes that Kuleba and Baerbock will hold talks focusing on coordinating efforts within the Normandy format, implementing a comprehensive containment package, developing trade relations, strengthening energy security, and intensifying dialogue on Germany's historical responsibility to Ukraine.
In addition, Baerbock plans to visit the Joint Forces Operation area.
To recap, French and German foreign ministers Jean-Yves Le Drian and Annalena Baerbock were scheduled to visit on February 7-8 "to de-escalate tensions." It turned out later that the French Foreign Minister would arrive in Ukraine only on February 8.
