Number of retirees in Ukraine exceed 10.8M – Pension Fund

In Ukraine, the number of retirees has decreased by almost 3 million people over the past 10 years, to 10,841,117 people as of January 1, 2022.

The relevant data has been provided to Ukrinform by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

In particular, as of January 1, 2021, there were 11,130,954 pensioners in Ukraine, as of January 1, 2020 – 11,334,730, as of January 1, 2019 – 11,470,405, as of January 1, 2018 – 11,725,370, as of January 1, 2017 – 11,956,198, as of January 1, 2016 – 12,296,502, as of January 1, 2015 – 12,147,189, as of January 1, 2014 – 13,533,308, as of January 1, 2013 – 13,639,739, and as of January 1, 2012 – 13,820,516.

Thus, from January 1, 2012 to January 1, 2022, the number of retirees in Ukraine decreased by 2,979,399 people. The Pension Fund did not specify the reasons for such a decrease.

At the same time, the Pension Fund notes that the relevant form of the state statistical observation from January 1, 2015 to January 1, 2022 was compiled excluding data from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are temporarily occupied.
