The EU doesn't intend to evacuate their diplomats or their families from Ukraine - Borrell
The European Union doesn't intend to organize evacuation for its diplomats or their families from Ukraine in connection with the threat of Russia's offensive.
That's why on Monday, before the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, High Representative of the EU Josep Borrell answered the questions of journalists whether the EU was intending, according to the announced decision of the United States, to launch the evacuation of the families of their diplomats from Ukraine and whether it meant the war was close, Ukrinform reports.
"The Secretary of State Blinken will explain to us the reasons for such a decision. We don't intend to do the same thing because we don't know any particular reason for this. But secretary Blinken will inform us. And I don't think that we have to dramatize, since negotiations are going on. I don't think we have to leave Ukraine. But perhaps Blinken has more information to share with us," said the High Representative of the EU.
Responding to the journalists' clarifying question, he denied any EU actions to evacuate its diplomatic corps from Ukraine.
"We don't have any decisions on this," said Borrell.
As reported by Rubryka, previously the information appeared on the decision of the State Department of the United States to begin evacuating families of American diplomats from Ukraine.
