Shevchenko agrees to take charge as Poland manager
Andriy Shevchenko, former manager of the Ukrainian national football team and Italian club Genoa, has agreed to head Poland's national football team
According to Polish media outlets, Shevchenko agreed with the Polish Football Association (PZPN) on all the terms of the contract. The Ukrainian will have a salary of 2.5 million euros a year, with part of the amount to be paid by PZPN and the rest by sponsors.
The presentation of the new head coach of the Polish national football team is scheduled for January 31.
Shevchenko was dismissed as Genoa manager on January 15, 2021, but the Italian club has not yet terminated his contract.
Poland will play against Russia in the playoffs for the 2022 World Cup.
