Even one Russian military crossing Ukraine's border will be considered incursion - Blinken
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that even if one Russian military crosses the Ukrainian border, it will be considered an incursion.
He said this in an interview with the German newspaper ZDF.
"If a Russian soldier crosses the border with Ukraine, we will deal with a really deep problem. Because it will be a very clear attack on Ukraine. Either one soldier or a thousand. This is a real risk, and it is a high risk. Not only in Ukraine, but recently Russia has also sent troops to Belarus. That's why it's a real risk," Blinken said.
The Secretary of State noted that both the United States and NATO had tried for many years to develop normal relations with Russia, but the latter rejected such attempts: "In fact, in recent years the problem hasn't been with NATO."
Blinken also made a forecast for his current talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The head of the State Department doesn't believe that they will be groundbreaking. However, he wants to hear what conclusions were drawn in Moscow after consultations with the United States, NATO, and the OSCE last week.
