Stefanishyna discussed NATO-Ukraine cooperation with the newly appointed Head of Mission

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna met with newly appointed NATO Head of Mission Karen Maktir

According to the statement, Olha Stefanishyna congratulated the Head of the Mission on her appointment and stressed the importance of further intensifying the Ukraine-NATO dialogue.

"Our common goal is to use all possible means to effectively counter security threats in the region. Further expansion of NATO-Ukraine cooperation, in this case, may not be only the key to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, but also significantly strengthen Alliance's security," she said.

The participants of the meeting discussed ways to strengthen coordination in the face of growing security threats.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Ukraine highly appreciated NATO's support, but stressed that even in the face of serious security threats, it was important not to lose sight of the reform agenda.

In this context, participants noted the importance of joint communication on the implementation of the Annual National Program.

The party also touched upon the issues of preparation for the forthcoming NATO Summit in Madrid and the importance of developing the Alliance's Strategic Concept.

After all, it will be NATO's roadmap for the next decade and will set the Alliance's course for working with countries.
