Ukrainians spent 1.5 billion of YePidtrymka: what is the most popular category
For 4 weeks of the YePidtrymka program, Ukrainians have already been paid almost UAH 7 billion, and Ukrainians have already spent almost UAH 1.5 billion of the funds received.
The Ministry of Economy reported this.
By types of costs, the most popular categories were:
- bookstores, UAH 490 million;
- cinemas, UAH 386 million;
- theaters, concerts, and entertainment services, UAH 188 million
- railway and air passenger transportation, UAH 180 million;
- sports, UAH 146 million.
The ministry noted that from the second half of January 2022 the program will be expanded; Ukrainians over the age of 60 will be able to spend money on the program to purchase medication.
The program officially started on December 19, 2021. The program will last a year, until December 18, 2022, and will be implemented in several stages.
In the first stage, the funds will be received through the Diia application, which is the fastest and easiest way.
The second phase (II-III quarter of 2022) will offer an alternative offline mechanism, which is currently being worked on. People who don't have smartphones will be able to apply for help offline. The execution of how the payments will be made is currently being developed," the department said.
