This is evidenced by data on the website Henley & Partners.
The first place was shared by the passports of two countries, Japan and Singapore; they have access to 192 visa-free destinations. In second place are Germany and South Korea, which have access to 190 destinations without a visa.
The third place was taken by Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain; citizens with these passports can enter 189 countries without a visa.
This year Ukraine took 35th place and shared it with Paraguay. You can travel to 141 countries without a visa. The Ukrainian passport has been in this position since April 2021.
At the same time, the Ukrainian passport surpassed the Russian one by 11 positions: the Russian Federation took 46th place in the ranking.
The top five worst documents included passports from Afghanistan (26 visa-free destinations), Iraq (28), Syria (29), Pakistan (31), and Yemen (33).
The company notes that since the creation of the index 17 years ago, the largest gap between countries in terms of visa-free travel was recorded this year. The first ones in the ranking, Japan and Singapore, have 166 more visa-free destinations than the last one, Afghanistan.
