NATO to hold a meeting with Ukraine ahead of talks with Russia

The NATO meeting convened the NATO-Ukraine Commission two days before NATO holds talks with Russia on Ukraine and security in Europe.

The meeting was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and the Alliance's press service.

"No decisions on Ukraine without Ukraine. I will be in Brussels on January 10 for a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission. This is part of a large-scale diplomatic effort to deter Russian aggression," Kuleba said on Twitter.

NATO has announced that on Monday, 10 January, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will receive Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who will also take part in a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of ambassadors chaired by Stoltenberg.

Two days later, on January 12, the Russia-NATO Council is scheduled to be convened by Stoltenberg after the Kremlin put forward so-called "security guarantees" and demanded NATO non-enlargement.

In addition, due to the increase in Russia's military capacity in Ukraine and on its borders, the North Atlantic Council will meet on January 7 for an extraordinary meeting at the level of foreign ministers.

On January 10, the United States is expected to hold talks with Russia on the platform of the Strategic Security Dialogue.
