“Ukrainian literature promotion”: Zelenska spoke about plans for 2022

Within two years, 35 Ukrainian-language audio guides have been created in 25 countries, and at least two dozen more are planned to be introduced next year.

Also in 2022, a project to promote works of Ukrainian literature in the world will begin, the President's wife Olena Zelenska said on her Facebook page.

"No matter how far you travel, from Africa to the United States, no matter what attractions you visit, the Roman Colosseum, the French Versailles, Vienna's Albertina, now you can be sure that you can meet them in Ukrainian. Our language was officially heard in 35 cultural centers in 25 countries around the world. It's a very important result of cultural diplomacy in 2020 and 2021," said the First Lady.

According to her, Ukrainian-language audio guides have appeared in museums and monuments in Italy, France, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Armenia, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Turkey, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Georgia, USA, Kenya, Republic of Northern Macedonia, Spain, Czech Republic, Rwanda.

The President's wife shared that the project of creating Ukrainian-language audio guides began for her with a regular bus tour, where it was rare to hear Ukrainian accompaniment.

"So the thought arose: why are there so few excursions in Ukrainian abroad? World cultural sites, museums, and attractions need to speak our language as well as others. And the button with the blue-yellow flag should become a common option when you choose the translation," Olena Zelenska emphasized.

She also informed that there are plans for next year: at least two dozen new audio guides in Ukrainian abroad.

In addition, the head of the state's wife announced a project to promote Ukrainian literature.

"Since I started sharing my plans: the next ambitious project of cultural diplomacy is the promotion of Ukrainian literature. Original versions of works and high-quality translations should appear on the shelves of national libraries and shops, in educational institutions of different countries. Ukraine has something to give to the world!" said the First Lady.
