The other day, as part of the "Miracles of St. Nicholas" campaign, children living in Donetsk and Luhansk regions received sweet gifts from Ukrainian servicemen.

The public relations department of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this, Rubryka reports.

The founder of the international humanitarian initiative Help East, the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev announced this.

"This year, about 3,000 children took part in the initiative, who, despite their young age, suffered severe hardships. These children have no influence on the events of their lives, but they have the right to childhood," said Lieutenant-General Serhiii Naiev.

According to him, during the festive events, children had the opportunity to watch the interactive interlude "Gifts of St. Nicholas" with the participation of actors from the Chernihiv Regional Puppet Theater named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko, whose artistic director is the famous theatrical figure Maksym Dobroliubov.

"We try to make the children remember the moments of simple children's joys and the feeling of a fairy tale. After all, their smiles are probably the best thing that can comfort and warm the soul," said Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev.

In addition, the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine visited the Kramatorsk Children's Hospital.

"On the eve of the New Year holidays, not all children will have the opportunity to receive the desired gifts at home, because some of them are in hospital," said Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev.

He added that according to doctors, a child's stay in a hospital is usually a stressful situation. Therefore, a good mood and a generally positive attitude contribute to faster recovery.

"Our goal is to create a festive atmosphere for the little patients of this medical institution. I hope that in this way the children will remember that the Ukrainian military is always there, always protecting, supporting, and helping," the commander said.

It should be noted that humanitarian medical aid was recently delivered to this medical institution, including medical beds, orthopedic mattresses, medical furniture, etc.

To recap, the festive events for children of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are supported by the Association of Medical and Charitable Aid France-Ukraine, whose vice president is Ms. Diana Dolls, and the Ukrainian company Sanagro Ukraine LLC, headed by director Oleksandr Skrypka. The project coordinator is Borys Kutovyi, an officer of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
