In Ternopil, a point will be equipped to monitor the environmental condition of the reservoir.
This was reported in the press service of the Regional Office of Water Resources in the Ternopil region, Ukrinform reports.
"Arrangement of the departmental hydrometeorological lake post of the Ternopil reservoir is at the final stage. A land plot has been allocated, and a permit has been issued to develop the project, a special site has been created, piles have been hammered in and a hydrometric bridge has been equipped," the department's press service said.
It was noted that hydrological, hydrochemical, and environmental observations will begin in the new year.
As reported, in Ternopil, environmentalists and public utilities have developed a program for comprehensive cleaning of the lake, which is designed for several years.
In particular, a new rainwater collector with a mechanical cleaning system was built, aeration fountains, which fill the water with additional oxygen, were restored, mechanical cleaning and deepening of the lake bottom were carried out. Special algae of chlorella and scenedesmus, which purify water from harmful elements, were also used here.
Ternopil Pond or Lake is an artificial reservoir with an area of 300 hectares, created in the current regional center on the site of swamps on the Seret River. The total volume of the reservoir is almost 13 million cubic meters. The lake is about the same age as the city of Ternopil, more than 480 years.
