Communities on demarcation line provided with alternative energy sources
The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, together with Naftogaz, provided communities on the demarcation line in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with alternative energy sources.
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Reintegration reported about it.
In particular, it is noted that during 2021, the plan for energy modernization of 64 facilities has been implemented: 32 in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The program involved the installation of street lighting poles, stops, benches, and "sun trees" with photovoltaic panels and sockets for charging cellular communications.
In addition, the project installed rooftop solar power stations at 6 medical facilities, 12 socio-cultural facilities, 19 infrastructure facilities, as well as in the service areas of entry-exit checkpoints.
"Autonomous street lamps are an economical alternative to traditional lighting, as they don't require energy costs and have a long service life. In addition, the use of alternative energy sources ensures uninterrupted operation of lighting systems in the dark and reduces energy dependence," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It is also noted that the provision of autonomous lighting installations of settlements located in the immediate vicinity of the demarcation line is one of the priority areas of joint activities of the Ministry of Reintegration with the executive authorities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
