Ternopil reduces the cost of utilities by installing individual heating points
Introducing energy-saving technologies allows residents of apartment buildings to pay a third less.
The mayor of Ternopil Serhii Nadal announced this, Ukrinform reports.
"We're currently working on installing individual heating points that automatically regulate the supply of a heating agent. Such energy-saving equipment allows reducing the cost of utilities from 30 to 50% compared to if there was no modernization. We're also moving from the outdated four-pipe heat supply system to the European two-pipe one," said Nadal.
According to the mayor of Ternopil, the city is currently successfully implementing a program of co-financing the thermal building modernization, when a third of the funds are paid by residents, and the remaining 70% are covered from the city budget.
In addition, after thermal modernization, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in the regional center will be reduced by 300 thousand kg per year, and the reduction of gas consumption will reach 140 thousand cubic meters per year.
A large-scale investment project of the European Investment Bank to insulate 23 municipal kindergartens and 16 schools is currently underway in Ternopil.
The total investment is 30.5 million euros.
