Commander of Joint Forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine met with Defense Attaché of the US Embassy
The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev, met with the Defense Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine, Colonel Brittany Stewart.
The public relations department of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this, Rubryka reports.
During the working meeting, the parties discussed issues of military cooperation, identified priorities for cooperation in security and defense, as well as opportunities for joint capacity building of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the commander briefed Colonel Brittany Stewart on the security situation in eastern Ukraine, the Black Sea region, and along the Ukrainian border.
"The Joint Forces Command of Ukraine highly values strategic relations with the United States and assistance in counteracting Russian aggression. We are determined to further develop our cooperation," said Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev.
The Commander added that in this context, the urgent tasks were to implement the leadership principles adopted by NATO members into the modern system of command of the state defense forces, to harmonize and implement relevant NATO standards and staff procedures in planning the use and management of the Joint Forces of Ukraine, as well as other components of the defense forces.
"In order to acquire full operational capabilities, we need your advisory, expert, and substantial practical assistance," said Lieutenant-General Naiev.
In turn, Colonel Brittany Stewart noted the readiness of the American party to continue providing support and practical assistance to Ukraine in protecting its territorial integrity and deterring aggression.
"Our efforts in military cooperation and joint training should be aimed at increasing the level of mutual trust, friendship, and prosperity of our countries," said Colonel Brittany Stewart.
