Antiseptic for coronavirus: scientists at Lviv University have developed an innovative agent
Scientists at Lviv University have developed an innovative antiseptic to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The press service of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" reported this.
"The innovative disinfectant that has been developed consists of the Phlomis pungens extract and silver nanoparticles," said Roksolana Konechna, Associate Professor of the Department of Technology of Biologically Active Compounds, Pharmacy, and Biotechnology.
She said that the antimicrobial and antifungal activity of silver in the form of nanoparticles in combination with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing effects of plant extract create a powerful basis for the development of antiseptics with huge antiviral potential.
It is known that the research was conducted within the AUF-project "Virus-free educational environment."
