First garbage catcher in Ukraine installed in Kharkiv
Ukraine's first Trash Killer garbage catcher has been installed on the Uda River in Kharkiv.
Environmental activist Artem Prykhodko announced this on his Facebook page.
The technology works like this: garbage flowing down the river will be delayed by pontoons. Then the garbage will get into the garbage container.
The official launch of the garbage catcher will take place on November 26, in Kharkiv, at Zhykhorska Dam.
Activists will also install a pontoon chain to send garbage to the trash can.
The initial estimated cost of the project is from UAH 80 to 120 thousand.
