Ukraine is coordinating its efforts with EU countries - Kuleba on migration crisis
To stop Belarusian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko's attempts to exploit the migration crisis against the Ukrainian state, Ukraine is coordinating its efforts with Poland, Lithuania and other European Union countries.
This was stated by the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"Ukraine does not recognize Aleksandr Lukashenko politically. But we are at war with Russia, we are defending our country. We must strengthen our economy without crossing any red lines. But at the same time, politically, we are really completely separated from the brutal reality of Belarus," Kuleba said.
The Minister added that now the Ukrainian authorities and a number of other states were coordinating their actions due to the migration crisis.
"We are now coordinating our efforts with Poland, Lithuania and the EU to stop the use of migrants as weapons by Aleksandr Lukashenko against our partners, friends and potentially against ourselves. I don't see any contradictions here, I believe that we should seek the right balance between values and our interests," the Foreign Minister added.
