Kherson Zero Waste eco-festival to be held in Kherson

The Kherson Zero Waste eco-festival will take place in Kherson on November 20 in the Kherson Fortress Park.

This was reported by the website of the Kherson City Council.

"Kherson residents are invited to the Kherson Zero Waste Ecofest. Experts and guests of the festival, an entertainment program, a raffle of eco-prizes, and a collection of Kherson eco-awards are waiting for you," the statement reads.

It is noted that the festival will have 5R-locations that meet the 5R-principles of the "Zero Waste" model.

Mentors, local eco-businesses, and eco-masters will help to understand the ideas of waste-free and responsible consumption:

  • Refuse;
  • Reduce;
  • Reuse;
  • Recycle;
  • Rot.

The first 100 visitors of the festival who will pass the quest "5 steps of Zero Waste" will receive eco-prizes.

In addition, during the festival, an advocacy ZeroWaste campaign will be launched in Kherson, collecting signatures of Kherson residents in support of a petition to join the city's international program "Zero Waste Cities." Entertainment for children is provided: eco-dances, eco-games, eco-mimes, "everything to make our children feel eco-happy."

The main partners of the festival: Kherson City Council, Department of Education and Science of Kherson Regional State Administration, Kherson District Council, student eco-team #ZWSKherson, LLC GREEN LINE SV.

The event will take place in the "Kherson Fortress" park, near the former "Swan Lake." The festival will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the city council added.
