Number of flights in Ukrainian airspace reached almost 84% of pre-crisis level
In October 2021, the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) provided air navigation services to 25,090 flights of Ukrainian and foreign airlines performed in the Ukrainian airspace, which is 83.8% of the pre-crisis October 2019 level.

According to UkSATSE, Ukrainian airlines performed 8,569 flights in October 2021 (down 12.6% from October 2019), and foreign airlines – 16,521 flights (down 18%). Air traffic distribution by flight types in October 2021 was as follows: 3,116 domestic flights (up 16.2% from 2019), 12,660 international flights (down 12.4%), and 9,314 transit flights (down 27.3%).
UkSATSE also reminded of the dynamics of flights in Ukraine's airspace since the beginning of 2021: 26,241 flights – in September, 29,048 flights – in August, 26,952 flights – in July, 21,113 flights – in June, 16,986 flights – in May, 13,661 flights – in April, 12,160 flights – in March, 8,758 flights – in February, 9,842 flights – in January.
As Ukrinform reported, in March 2020, Ukraine suspended air services due to coronavirus lockdown. Ukraine resumed domestic flights on June 5, 2020, international flights on June 15, 2020.
The number of flights in the Ukrainian airspace amounted to 142,047 flights in 2020, which is 57.6% less than in 2019.
