A smart museum set up in Mukachevo Palanok Castle

A smart museum has been set up in Mukachevo Palanok Castle, which will keep tourists in the fortress for 3-4 hours.

The Uzhhorod Press Club reported this to Ukrinform.

"The main idea is to show the castle's history in an interesting interactive format, through digital elements of the exhibition, which presents the main events and figures of the castle's history." The new exposition includes 3D models of the castle, digitized exhibits, several types of games for children. In particular, a wooden cannon you can shoot safely from; walls you can paint on; "building materials" for arches that you can build yourself," says the director of the Mukachevo Historical Museum Mykhailo Belekanych.

The exposition hall of the smart museum consists of five rooms. This is an interactive space about the history of the castle, it shows the fortress in different historical times.

Also in the middle courtyard of the castle, they arranged a room-photo area, "Castle Watch," with historical costumes, weapons, military armor.

This hall is designed for small groups. Visitors will be able to pick up all the items, study, and really touch and feel the history. Blacksmith reconstructor Roman Heidelbakher rebuilt weapons of different centuries," said the leading expert historian of the project Oleksandr Shershun.

According to the organizers, the created exhibition "Chronicles of Palanok Castle" should increase the attractiveness of the national historical monument, Palanok Castle, for visitors through the introduction of smart solutions in the exhibition and promotional activities. If now the average tourist spends up to 2 hours in the castle, then due to innovations, the duration of their stay can increase to 3-4 hours.

It is reported that the project was created in cooperation with the projects "Smart Museum – Modern Forms of Cultural Heritage" with the financial support of the EU and "Chronicles of Palanok Castle" with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
