3 Ukrainian alpinists climbed the most difficult peak of the Himalayas

Three Ukrainian climbers climbed the still inaccessible peak of Mount Annapurna III in the Himalayas.

This was reported on Facebook by the Department for Family, Youth, and Sports of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.

"The expedition included: Viacheslav Polezhaiko from Cherkasy, Mykhailo Fomin, and Mykyta Balabanov from Kyiv. The climbers overcame the unconquerable south-eastern edge of the mountain at a height of 7,555 m, which remained inaccessible for three decades. During the route, the men passed 2,800 meters of the wall in the Himalayas, which no one was able to conquer before them," the Cherkasy Regional State Administration said.

It was noted here that the ascent took place on November 6.

The British Nick Colton and Tim Leach first tried to climb the ridge in 1981. They reached the mark of 6,500 meters, but the team was forced to return down due to problems with acclimatization.

Annapurna III is located in Nepal. The third highest mountain in the Annapurna Mountains. The top is located almost in the central part of this array. In terms of height, the mountain ranks 42nd in the world.
