Presidential decree on planting 1 billion trees fulfilled by 3.53%
The presidential decree on planting 1 billion trees in June 2021 has been fulfilled by 3.53%, a total of 35.44 million trees have been planted.
This is stated on the website of the "Green Country" state program.
Currently, 35.44 million trees have been planted in Ukraine on a total area of 6.78 thousand hectares, or 3.53%.
The leading regions in afforestation are the Zhytomyr region, where 12.69 million trees have been planted, as well as Volyn (3.25 million), Chernihiv (2.27 million), Lviv (2.24 million), Kyiv (2.07 million), and Rivne (1.98 million) regions.
The fewest trees were planted in Kherson and Mykolaiv region: 19 thousand and 46 thousand trees, respectively.
