150 Ukrainian women with cancer will be operated on for free in Poland
Sheptytskyi Hospital has launched a project in which women with cervical and endometrial oncology will be referred to Poland for free surgery.
The press service of the Lviv City Council reported this with reference to the medical institution.
The project was launched by the Sheptytskyi Hospital together with the Szpital na Klinach and the Ecumenical Committee for Medical and Social Assistance.
"The operations will take place in the clinic of our partners in Poland. The operation and the postoperative period will be free. In this way, we will help many women who have cancer. Our oncologist will make a sample based on this diagnosis, and only then we will send women to Poland for surgery. It will take place on modern Da Vinci equipment, which is very accurate, gives the lowest risk of postoperative and operative complications," said the medical director of the hospital Roksolana Velhush.
It is noted that women with cancer must fill out a Google Form. This application will be reviewed by an oncologist, after which he will invite women to the hospital, where he will examine them if necessary. Then the final sampling will take place and patients will go to Poland. Abroad, they will be met and accompanied by Polish hospital staff. According to the requirements of the project, 150 women will be operated on in Poland.
