Russia recognized the participation of its citizens in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian side in the TCG says

Demanding from Ukraine to provide consular access to the Russian citizen detained in Donbas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation recognized the participation of the citizens in the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine, the Ukrainian party in TCG states.

This is declared in the statement of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas on Facebook, Rubryka reports.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry has officially recognized the participation of Russian citizens in the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. We congratulate the Russian representatives on this courageous step: it is difficult to recognize reality after eight years of consistent lies. We wish Russian diplomacy strength and inspiration in taking the next barrier: official recognition of the full responsibility of the Russian leadership for resolving and continuing the international armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. This is the main guarantee of the beginning of the process of a real peace settlement. Once again, we congratulate the Russian Foreign Ministry and support its leadership in taking bold steps to end Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. Hold on, we know how difficult it is for you now," the statement said.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded that Ukraine allow Russian consular officers to detain Andrii Kosiak, a native of the Luhansk region on October 13, because he had received a passport from the Russian Federation.
