The Fund of President of Ukraine launches in Ukraine: what will it do?
The inaugural meeting of the Council of the Presidential Fund for Support of Education, Science, and Sports, created to develop and support talented Ukrainians, their ideas in these areas to strengthen Ukraine's leadership in the world, took place today.

Congratulating the participants on the beginning of the work, the chairperson of the Board of the Fund, Iryna Tuliakova stressed that the President's Fund was an opportunity to implement transformations in Ukraine, to help develop talented young people.
"We want our country, our youth, scientists, educators, and athletes not to have impossible things. The country of talented people is about creating opportunities for the development of everyone's potential," she said.
Deputy Head of the Office of President Yulia Sokolovska noted that the Fund should become an effective mechanism for encouraging talented youth.
"I'm sure that what we'll establish here – innovative approaches, progressive things – will be the driver of what is happening in our country. Let's make everything work for us. For this Fund to become an example," Yulia Sokolovska stressed and wished the members of the Board of the Fund fruitful work.
Olha Budnyk, the President's Adviser on the Fund, noted that the Fund was called to unite talented people and allow them to realize their potential in Ukraine. Congratulating the Board of the Fund on the start of work, she also spoke in detail about the steps that had been taken since the establishment of the Fund, prospects for development, and challenges facing it.
Among the key programs of the Fund are the grants for studying abroad, internships for young foreign institutions of higher education and research institutions, attracting lecturers from leading universities and research institutions, youth participation in international scientific seminars and conferences, encouraging young people to achieve, support for the implementation of projects in the field of education, science and sports.
Iryna Tuliakova also said that in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, work was underway to develop an online platform for the Fund.
The key programs of the Fund are expected to be launched in February 2022.
The President's Fund was established in 2019 to encourage the development of talented youth. In June 2021, Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the Regulations on the Board of the Fund, restarting its activities.
From the Fund's finances, presidential prizes of UAH 100,000 will be paid to the winners of international student competitions. Presidential scholarships of UAH 10,000 will also be paid to the participants of the external evaluation who showed the highest results. Such scholarships will be paid monthly throughout the year.
Funding for awards to celebrate the achievements of Ukrainian athletes, encourage young people to participate in sports, and support coaching is also planned.
