In Cherkasy region, a bus converted into an animal spaying point
A bus with Canadian equipment was converted into an animal spaying point.
Ukrinform announced this, Rubryka reports.
"Talnyi City Council gave us a special bus with Canadian equipment for spaying animals for free. Residents of the community raised money and conducted operations for the first time last weekend. The doctor from Cherkasy operated. He'll perform 5-7 surgeries a day," said animal rights activist Nadia Solodenko.
Five years ago, the Talnyi city authorities handed over a "Kuban" bus, formerly owned by a local house of culture, to animal rights activists. The bus was converted into an animal spaying point.
According to Nadia Solodenko, there's a real veterinary clinic inside the bus. Fixed stationary table, electric generator, surgical equipment, refrigerator, cages.
The vehicle was equipped with everything necessary so that the veterinarian could spay the animal. According to the plan, the point was to be mobile and spay animals not only in Talnyi but also in neighboring districts. However, the bus broke down and stood still.
Former Talnyi mayor Oleksii Yurchenko commented that the city council won a grant from the Canadian government five years ago. He received 17,000 euros, for which the bus was converted into an operating room.
Talnyi City Council has already approved a program to support homeless animals. The money for spaying has been allocated, and animal rights activists will receive it next week.
