Zelenskyy forms a group to deal with Nord Stream-2 issue: full composition

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set up a working group to propose options for Ukraine's response to threats through Russia's Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

The President signed this order № 545/2021-RP on September 16, Rubryka reports.

The working group should prepare "proposals for measures to prevent and minimize the negative consequences for the state from the construction of gas pipelines and develop proposals for reducing certain threats in the security and energy fields."

The full composition of the working group:

  • Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Chairperson of the Working Group;
  • Ivan Bakanov, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine;
  • Yurii Vitrenko, Chairperson of the Board of the Joint-Stock Company. Naftogaz of Ukraine (by consent);
  • Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine;
  • Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine;
  • Ruslan Demchenko, First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine;
  • Olena Zerkal, Adviser to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine (by consent);
  • Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine;
  • Denys Maliuska, Minister of Justice of Ukraine;
  • Oksana Markarova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America;
  • Andrii Melnyk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Germany;
  • Yulia Svyridenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine;
  • Andrii Sibiha, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Secretary of the Working Group;
  • Olha Stefanyshyna, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine;
  • Oleksandr Chalyi, President of Grant Thornton Limited Liability Company, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine (by consent).

According to the document, the head of the working group may, if necessary, make changes in its composition and involve representatives of executive bodies, scientific institutions, public associations, as well as independent experts.
