Online voting for “30 iconic books of our Independence” has started

Online voting started on the website of the  "30 iconic books of our Independence" project.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, Rubryka reports.

Every Ukrainian can take part in forming the outstanding list until October 15 this year. To do this, you need to choose one or 30 books out of 100 offered on the site. The books that receive the most votes will form the TOP-30.

"'30 iconic books of our Independence' will allow us to collect the stories that are, in fact, a reflection of our Independence. These are people, events, and turning points that had a direct impact on the struggle for freedom and loudly declared Ukraine to the world. Our literature is strong and original. Both classical and modern, with alternative forms and solutions, and with the imitation of the best traditions of the geniuses of the past. I'm sure that the top 30 books for which Ukrainians are voting will be really exceptional," said Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko.

The list of TOP-100 iconic books was formed in the summer. A wide range of consultants worked on it.

This Ministry's project, together with the Ukrainian Book Institute, was launched on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. It is designed to create a unique list of publications that have influenced the formation and development of the country, its citizens, the image of the state.
