The Ukrainian party of the Joint Center for Coordination and Control (JCCC) reports that the armed forces of the Russian Federation fired on peaceful settlements along the line of demarcation using prohibited weapons.

The press service of the Joint Forces  Operation announced this, Rubryka reports.

On September 8, 2021, from 11:00 pm to 11:16 pm, the Russian occupation forces fired a 120-mm mortar near the Mariinka area.

The Ukrainian Monitoring Group of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire and Stabilization of the Line of Demarcation of the Parties verified the consequences of the shelling, during which the facts of violation of the Minsk Agreements were established and documented.

In particular, damage to civil infrastructure (damage to the wall of the building, the surrounding area) was recorded.

According to journalist Andrii Tsaplienko, the occupiers also fired 34 shells today between 07:30 and 08:30 in the village of Verkhnotoretske.

"Why did they start firing so hard? What is the purpose? I'm convinced that the action was not spontaneous but planned. Immediately after the shelling, the separatist public began to spread reports that there was no shelling," the journalist said.

The video shows that the shelling was carried out with 120-caliber mortars.
