Ukraine has offered the United States to create a free trade zone between the two countries - Kuleba
Ukraine has offered the United States to create a free trade zone between the two countries. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that we need a robust economy to deter Russia.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced this on the air of the "Freedom of Speech" program on ICTV.
"We want to strengthen our economy. And we understand very well that to fight, you need money. And it is preferable to earn it because you have a strong economy that allows you to create reserves and then spend them on defense," said the minister.
Kuleba also noted that the Ukrainian side was constantly negotiating with American counterparts on visa-free travel between the two countries, but didn't announce their results.
As reported by Rubryka, the Minister also responded to the opinion of the studio's guests that NATO partners were not helping Ukraine to create an effective missile and air defense. According to him, Ukraine doesn't need an American missile defense system but needs its own.
