World record and "gold": swimmer Trusov wins 3rd medal at 2020 Paralympics
Swimmer Andrii Trusov won a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle (class – S7).

Trusov competed in the fourth distance at the 2020 Paralympics. In two of the three, he managed to win silver awards: 200 meters in complex style and 400 meters in freestyle.
In the 100-meter freestyle final, Trusov competed with another Ukrainian, the 100-meter breaststroke champion Yevhen Bohodaiko. At the same time, Bohodaiko was the current Paralympic champion in this distance before the final swim.
However, the main contender for the awards in the 100-meter freestyle was Trusov. The time of the 21-year-old Ukrainian in qualifying was 1:10.20 minutes; only Argentine Fernando Carlomagno swam faster, setting a Paralympic record in qualification. Among the contenders for the awards was Israeli Mark Malyar, who was twice ahead of Trusov in the distances.
Trusov managed to win in the final. At the finish, the Ukrainian showed the result 1:08.14 minutes and set a new world record.
Currently, Ukraine has 48 medals and 5th place in the medal standings and is 4th in total.
