Ukraine is moving towards full membership in the EU and NATO: Zelenskyy's decree

By his decree of August 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved and put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the strategy of Ukraine's foreign policy.

The relevant decree, together with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council and the text of the strategy, was published on the website of the head of state, Rubryka reports.

The decree comes into force from its publication.

The National Security and Defense Council approved the strategy of Ukraine's foreign economic activity on July 30.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the document clearly defined the goal of foreign policy: to establish Ukraine in the world as a strong and authoritative European country.

The document identifies six priority areas of foreign policy:

  • ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine;
  • counteracting the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation;
  • course for Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO;
  • promoting Ukrainian exports and attracting investments;
  • protecting the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad;
  • promoting a positive image of Ukraine in the world.
