Ukraine and France hope for the visit of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine by the end of this year.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, and the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Jean-Yves Le Drian stated this during a joint press conference, UNN reports.
"We look forward to a new stage of cooperation, the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine. Today, Minister Le Drian confirmed President Macron's intention to make such a visit, which will be symbolic and significant for our bilateral relations," Kuleba said.
"Mr. Dmytro and I share the hope that the President of the French Republic will be able to visit Ukraine before the end of this year," Le Drian added.
It should be noted that talks about Emmanuel Macron's visit to Ukraine have been underway since last year. In April 2020, Macron confirmed his intention to visit Ukraine as soon as the coronavirus pandemic ended.
