President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy assumed that the obligations under the agreement between the United States and Germany on Nord Stream 2 might not be fulfilled. He intends to ask US leader Joe Biden to intervene in the situation with the pipeline.

This is stated in an interview with Zelenskyy in The Washington Post.

"Of course, I'm not happy with this agreement, if I may call it that, and the format in which it was reached," Zelenskyy said.

He explained that he "doesn't really believe" in fulfilling the obligations under the agreement. When asked if he considered the US-Germany Nord Stream 2 agreement a betrayal, Zelenskyy shrugged and smiled.

The president also said he intended to ask Biden to intervene in the situation with the Russian gas pipeline, amid reports of its completion in the coming days.

To recap, the meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States will take place on August 31. The changes to the plans are due to the fact that the format of the presidential meeting has been expanded and will now include a face-to-face meeting.
