Innovative drugs to treat coronavirus will be delivered to Ukraine - Liashko
The Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko stated that innovative drugs for coronavirus treatment will be brought to Ukraine.
During a broadcast on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, he added that agreements had already been reached with two American companies.
"These are direct-acting antivirals that are currently in the third stage of clinical trials. We think it's a breakthrough that, together with vaccination, will allow us to overcome the pandemic," the minister said.
Liashko said that in practice these drugs hadn't been used yet. These are direct-acting drugs that repel the virus.
"One of the producers in Ukraine is one of the six countries to which these drugs will be supplied in the first place. A quota of 300,000 courses has been reserved for Ukraine," Liashko said.
To recap, in July, Liashko declared that Ukraine would receive new direct-acting drugs to treat COVID-19. According to him, they will be presented to Ukrainians shortly.
