Ukraine rises to 27th place in world environmental friendliness ranking
Ukraine has risen to 27th place in the world's updated Sustainable Development Index (SDI).
It is noted that the data is still lagging, so as of now we see the data from 2015-2019.
The Sustainable Development Index (SDI) is an index that shows the efficiency and environmental friendliness of development in terms of planetary boundaries.
This is essentially the Human Development Index (HDI), which is still adjusted for emissions and efficiency of use of materials per person.
In this ranking, Ukraine is ahead of most developed countries in the world, which have extremely low rates due to the load on the Earth's fossil resources. Costa Rica is leading the ranking.
