People's deputies didn't support the draft law on control of industrial emissions

The Verkhovna Rada rejected the draft law "On Prevention, Reduction, and Control of Pollution Occurring as a Result of Industrial Activity."

On July 15, 156 people's deputies voted for the adoption of the draft law in the first reading.

The act was designed to implement the EU Directive into Ukrainian legislation adopted to prevent and control emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, discharges of wastewater with concentrations of pollutants, and control of operations in waste management.

The draft law is designed to implement the decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi "On urgent measures to reform and strengthen the state," its adoption is an obligation of Ukraine under the Association Agreement with the EU.

The draft law envisages the introduction of integrated emission permits according to the European model, as well as requirements for emission monitoring and control of economic entities that have received such a permit.
