Airport, bridge and railway to be reconstructed in Zhytomyr – mayor
Zhytomyr Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn says the city will use funds allocated from the state budget to reconstruct the airport and the bridge near the railway station, as well as provide the railway section with electricity.
"Funds from the state budget will be spent on three major facilities in Zhytomyr. Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov has publicly announced the reconstruction works, which will be financed," the mayor posted on Facebook.
In particular, Koroliov Zhytomyr Airport will be reconstructed. A tender for the reconstruction of this facility has already been announced.
A major overhaul of the bridge near the railway station will be carried out at the expense of the state budget.
In addition, a section of the railway from Zhytomyr to Novohrad-Volynsky will be provided with electric power, which will allow launching trains, including Intercity, through Zhytomyr and establishing rail links with other regions.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers opened a checkpoint for international freight and passenger traffic across the state border at Koroliov Zhytomyr Airport.
