Security situation in and around the disengagement areas in Donbas is deteriorating - OSCE mission

In the area of the Joint Forces Operation, the total number of violations is increasing and the security situation in and around the disengagement area is deteriorating.

The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), Ambassador Heidi Grau said this in a statement after regular meetings of the TCG and its working groups in the format of video conferences, UNN reports.

"Over the past two weeks, there has been an increasing number of ceasefire violations.  The overall quantity of violations is rising, while the security situation in and around the disengagement areas is deteriorating," Grau said.

According to her, at the same time, the OSCE SMM has reported restrictions on freedom of movement and deliberate damage to technical and surveillance equipment.

"I need to underline that the sides have not yet demonstrated their willingness to address the ceasefire violations recorded by the SMM," the OSCE Ambassador said.

Following the TCG meeting on July 7, the Ukrainian delegation reported that Russia had been urged to provide updated lists of detainees for the next TCG meeting.

Ukraine also called on the OSCE to facilitate the visit of IAEA inspectors to the occupied Donbas.
