Ukraine lost to England with 4:0 and leaves Euro 2020
The national team of Ukraine lost to England in the quarterfinals of the European Football Championship. It was an extremely tense match. Our team was in full swing and showed an extraordinary level of play. Despite the score, the guys have already gone down in history and led Ukraine to the quarterfinals, and entered the top eight teams of the tournament.
The national teams of Ukraine and England met in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico. Although the Italian authorities forbade Ukrainian fans to attend the match due to quarantine restrictions, our national team received powerful support. The stands were filled with a representative of the diaspora and Ukrainians working in Italy.
For Andrii Shevchenko's team, the troubles started even before the match. Due to muscle overload, midfielder Ruslan Malynovskyi wasn't included in the application for the game.
Unsuccessfully, the Ukrainians started the match and missed a goal in the 4th minute. Rahim Sterling brought Harry Kane into the shooting position through a pass, who sent the ball into the net from close range.
In the 35th minute, the national team of Ukraine lost central defender Serhii Kryvtsov, whom Andrii Shevchenko replaced with attacking midfielder Viktor Tsygankov.
Unsuccessfully, the Ukrainians started the second half. In the 46th minute, England earned a free-kick, Luke Shaw passed to the penalty area, and Harry Maguire headed the ball into the goal.
The Ukrainians didn't have time to recover, as the British scored in the 50th minute for the third time. Shaw hung from the left flank and Kane punched a goal with his head close.
In the 63rd minute, the Ukrainians lost the fight again; after a corner kick, the fourth goal was scored by Jordan Henderson.
As a result, Ukraine lost 0:4 and stopped competing at Euro 2020.
In the semifinals, the England national team will meet Denmark on July 7 in London. On July 6, also at Wembley, the first finalist will be determined by Italy and Spain.
