Ministry of Digital Transformation expects the EU will recognize Ukrainian covid certificates by end of summer

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine expects that Ukraine and the European Union will mutually recognize co-certificates by the end of this summer.

First Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Oleksii Vyskub stated this during a speech on the first day of the European Business Association IT week, Ukrinform reports.

"According to the certificates, the European Union is moving a little faster than usual, so it's definitely a topical issue worldwide. We expect that according to optimistic forecasts, we'll have mutual recognition by the end of the summer. We expect it," Vyskub said.

He added that this year the agency also expected mutual recognition of electronic signatures. According to him, this may happen in the fall.

As reported by Rubryka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that from July 1, Ukraine plans to introduce electronic certificates of coronavirus vaccination with information that a person is vaccinated and when.

The certificate will be both paper and electronic, it will be added to the Diia application.
