Government has restricted entry to Ukraine for citizens of some countries: all because of Delta strain

Independent trip to Europe

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has amended the quarantine regulations to counteract the spread of the Delta coronavirus strain. They'll concern entry from countries where this strain outbreak is currently observed.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reports.

In particular, foreigners (except those having a permanent residence permit in Ukraine) and stateless persons over 12 years of age entering Ukraine from India, Great Britain, Russia, and Portugal or having been on their territory for at least seven days during the last two weeks, will need to pass a rapid test to determine the coronavirus antigen directly at the border checkpoints. If the result is negative, a person can enter.

If the result is positive or the person refuses to be tested, the border guard may refuse to allow them to enter the territory of Ukraine.

Citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons who permanently reside on the territory of Ukraine (except for those under 12 years of age) and who came from these countries must also pass a rapid test. In case of a positive result, they are sent for mandatory self-isolation or observation.

Currently, the Ministry of Health names only four countries with the restriction for entry because of the Delta strain.

The new rules will take effect on July 2.

To recap, on June 23, it became known about the first recorded case of a coronavirus with Delta strain in Ukraine.
