An American university will be opened in Kyiv: where will it be?

A world-class American university will appear in the building of the river station on Poshtova Square in Kyiv. The higher education institution will be opened in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU).

This was reported at the US Embassy in Ukraine.

"We look forward to the American University, which will soon open in Kyiv. A great opportunity for the development of education in Ukraine in partnership with ASU," the embassy wrote.

Dmytro Bilotserkovets, a deputy from the UDAR party, said that several investors had been involved in the project, both from the American and Ukrainian sides. The American side is represented by former US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker. He also took part in the presentation.

It is expected that after the restoration of the historic building next year, the university will accept the first students.

Bila Tserkva called the future university a "world-class" educational institution. He also noted that Arizona State University ranked first in innovation among US universities.

At the presentation, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko promised the city would fully support the project.

"Education is the key to life. Many boys and girls dream of getting an American education. From today, they have the opportunity not to go to the United States for education, but to get it here in Ukraine. This is a great idea, a grand project that has the full support of Kyiv authorities," the mayor assures.

Serhii Voitsekhovskyi, a member of the Board of Directors of BGV Group Management investment company of entrepreneur Hennadii Butkevych, wrote on his Facebook page: "We did a great job yesterday. We officially launched a project to create the best university in the country. AUK (American University Kyiv)."

It is known that Hennadii Butkevych became an investor on the Ukrainian side.

Oleksandr Naumyk, CEO of BGV Group Management, stressed that it was one of the most important projects for them.

"One of the most important projects for us, in which we participate with our partners, has officially started. I'm confident that American University Kyiv, established in cooperation with Arizona State University, has a glorious future and its graduates will be able to make a significant contribution to Ukraine's development," he emphasized.
