KOLO store chain co-founder spoke about trade peculiarities in Odesa

Serhii Voitsekhovskyi, a co-founder of the KOLO store chain, a member of the board of directors of BGV Group, shared his vision of the reasons for the company's recent entry into the retail market in Odesa.

"Odesa is a very interesting city for retail. It's the second city after Kyiv in terms of the number of new residential buildings. If you look at the analytics, Kyiv is in the first place, Odesa is in second place, Lviv is in third place, followed by Kharkiv and Dnipro," Voitsekhovskyi said during the RAU Expo 2021 summit in Kyiv.

At the same time, according to the expert, Odesa has its own specifics because it's a seasonal resort city.

"But traffic and consumption are growing. We were preparing, waiting; although it was delayed due to weather and other factors," Serhii Voitsekhovskyi says.

In Odesa, many tourists come, even despite the season. At the same time, the segment of ready meals has grown very well in the city recently.

"There are a lot of local producers and Odesans really love their local goods. It has its own specifics, and we're adapting," the co-founder of KOLO said when asked about the differences in consumer preferences between Kyiv and Odesa.

As reported, the KOLO chain of stores plans to open at least 100 new stores by the end of the year.
