Ukraine is interested in increasing trade and economic cooperation with the United States - Razumkov

Ukraine is interested in significantly increasing trade and economic cooperation with the United States, its largest strategic partner.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov stated this at the IX Ukrainian-American Forum, Rubryka reports.

According to Dmytro Razumkov, the potential of the bilateral partnership isn't fully used yet. For example, last year the foreign trade turnover of Ukraine's goods and services with the United States decreased compared to 2019. This situation should be remedied by joint and coordinated efforts of both parties.

"It's important to attract investment, including American ones. After all, they contribute to creating jobs and helping to overcome the challenges facing the state. We understand that predictable tax legislation and ensuring the rule of law in the state are key to attracting investors. The Parliament is ready for a constructive dialogue with business," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada assured.

He also stressed the importance of further development of humanitarian and scientific ties. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the US Government on continued cooperation between the two governments in science and technology. This document expands the opportunities of Ukrainian scientists for integration into the world scientific space.

Dmytro Razumkov stated that Ukraine deserved strong geopolitical support from the United States because today, developing a successful and strong Ukraine guarantees security and peace in the region and the world.

"The success of the united Europe project, with all its ups and downs, is also impossible without Ukraine. Therefore, let us increase our joint efforts to achieve strategic goals that meet the interests of Ukraine, the United States, and Europe," he said.
