Melnychuk appointed govnt's representative in parliament

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Taras Melnychuk, a member of the Servant of the People party, as the government's permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this at a regular government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We all know him. Taras Petrovych is present here. I am sure we will have fruitful and successful communication work," Shmyhal told government officials.

Since 2019 Taras Melnychuk has been working as head of the secretariat of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People political party in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (patronage service).

As Ukrinform reported, on April 29, MP from the Servant of the People faction Vasyl Mokan submitted a letter of resignation from the post of permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Cabinet promised to consider the appointment of a new permanent representative within the next two weeks.
