Zelenskyi invited a journalist from the United States and her team to his parents' apartment
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi invited the journalist of the American TV channel CBS Holly Williams and her team to his parents' apartment in Kryvyi Rih and treated them with lard.
CBS informs about it, UNN reports.
It is noted that on the eve of the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, CBS journalists spent a week in Ukraine, visiting the Joint Force Operation Zone, as well as talking to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in a more informal atmosphere.
Zelenskyi invited a team of journalists to his parents' apartment, where they were treated to lard on rye bread, salmon sashimi, homemade cookies, and a glass of brandy.
It is notable that the head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, was also present.
Journalists also asked Zelenskyi's parents what kind of activity they prefer for their son. To which Zelenskyi's father Oleksandr stated that they "prefer" the comedy way.
The President himself admitted at the meal that his parents had always worried about him since his election as President.
The TV channel also notes that Zelenskyi grew up in the Soviet era, in a Russian-speaking family, and part of his early years took place in the Mongolian city of Erdenet, where his father taught.
During the meeting, Zelenskyi was also asked why ordinary Americans should worry about the conflict in Ukraine, which is thousands of miles from their own country.
"Tomorrow it may come to their homes," the President replied.
Zelenskyi is certain that Russian President Volodymyr Putin has "neo-imperial ambitions" to regain control of his neighbors.
"They don't want to leave us alone," the newspaper quoted the President saying.
