TCG: Russia needs hostages
Russia uses Ukrainian political prisoners for political purposes. In particular, in exchange for fulfilling political demands that are unrealistic for Ukraine.
The representative of Donetsk in the Ukrainian delegation in the TCG political subgroup Serhii Harmash stated it, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"Russia uses our prisoners purely for political purposes. In exchange for fulfilling political demands. Its political demands are unrealistic for Ukraine. And they don't fulfill humanitarian demands," he said.
According to Harmash, at the last TCG meeting, the head of the Ukrainian delegation Leonid Kravchuk offered to exchange four seriously ill Ukrainians, but Russia didn't make concessions.
"At the last TCG meeting, Kravchuk offered to exchange four seriously ill Ukrainians… They didn't make concessions, didn't even agree with Ukraine to fulfill certain requirements. Because they're not interested in such an exchange. They need hostages to exchange them depending on political interests. when it will be beneficial for them," he emphasized.
