Perha mining company created a street lighting in a village in Zhytomyr region

In the village of Perha, Olevsk district, Zhytomyr region, 365 people have lived without street lighting for over 40 years. The Perha mining company, which plans to operate in the community, has set about resolving the issue and helping the village.

About 3 km of cable was used to install lighting in the village. The Perha mining company installed 47 lanterns and spent UAH 750,000.

"It's great that the village streets were lit for the safety of our children and students. This makes it safer to spend time outdoors and cross the road in the evening, especially in winter or autumn, when it gets dark very early and the children are still in school. There are clubs, various additional classes that last until late. Street lighting will reduce the danger for children," Oleksandr Stepanchuk, headteacher of the Perha school, said.

This is not the first aid to people from BGV Group Management, which owns the Pezha mining company. Last year, amid a pandemic, the company helped medical institutions in the Zhytomyr region by more than 20 million hryvnias. Now the Perha mining company has started repairing the first-aid post in the village.

Local authorities promote the company's sponsorship and strongly support the idea of improving community life. The social agreement with the Perha mining company will provide the budget with additional funding, which will be used to combat the urgent problems of the Olevsk community.

The geological project opens up great opportunities for the community. The standard of living in the village of Perha can be better.
